Storrs Gallery presents Barbara Schreiber: Domestic Disturbances, March 15- April 18.
Barbara Schreiber is a Charlotte-based artist whose colorful paintings and drawings capture the collision between domestic normalcy and natural chaos. In her words, they “combine pretty pictures and ugly subjects.” The underlying theme here is the impeding effects of modern development and the absurd scenes that can sometimes result from a threatened environment. She describes her most recent work as “. . . a distinctly American story – one of restlessness, one of real estate, bracketed by the open road and the gated community.”
