The Paul Taylor Dance Company makes its first appearance in Charlotte in more than 15 years, co-presented by the UNC Charlotte College of Arts + Architecture, The Arts at CPCC, and Charlotte Ballet as part of the Sensoria festival. Paul Taylor is the greatest living pioneer of American modern dance. Since founding the world-renowned Paul Taylor Dance Company in 1954, he has choreographed 144 dances, many of which have attained iconic status and have been celebrated throughout the world.
The program for April 7 and 8 features Brandenburgs (1988); Lost, Found and Lost (1982); and Le Sacre du Printemps (1980), danced to Stravinsky's two-piano arrangement performed live.
The presentation of the Paul Taylor Dance Company is the culmination of a year-long project led by the UNC Charlotte Department of Dance and funded, in part, by a generous gift from the Wells Fargo Foundation.
